Government Declares Three Cricket Stadiums as National Pride Projects

Kathmandu: The government has announced its decision to designate three under-construction cricket stadiums as national pride projects. The Council of Ministers made this decision during a meeting on November 10, as revealed by Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma at a news conference held on Friday at the Ministry.

The cricket stadiums identified for this recognition are the Biratnagar Cricket Stadium, Mulpani Cricket Stadium, and Bharatpur Cricket Stadium. They will now be developed as part of the national pride projects.

Additionally, the cabinet meeting has directed the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation to implement the recommendations provided by an expert panel regarding the construction of an international standard airport.

Minister Sharma further mentioned that the cabinet has decided to allocate one month's salary from the Prime Minister and ministers for the rescue and relief operations in the earthquake-affected communities in Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim districts.

In a personnel move, Chief Secretary of the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of Sudurpaschim Province, Narayan Prasad Sharma, has been transferred to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies. Simultaneously, Dr. Hari Prasad Lamsal has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of Sudurpaschim Province.
